Yes, I watched Boehner's speech in real time -- it was well delivered, and heartfelt. You can tell he's really pissed off at what's going on, and he tries to stave off disaster. Towards the end, he invokes the traditions of Democracy, going back to the ancient Greeks. But it's all for naught, of course. Like in one of those old theater pieces dem Greeks had.
Stupak: all a sham, of course. Either the guy is a total moron (hard to believe, but possible), or he had screws put on his fingers, or he was bought. Not mutually exclusive.
Unlucky for us, the ones who are murdering this Democracy/Republic are no Philip or Alexander, or even Octavius or Tiberius. Not even Tiberius. Just a flush of Commodi.

Andy McCarthy rails against a bogeyman or another. As Pavlov predicts with 100% accuracy, Herr Rot says McCarthy is wrong. Yeah, right.
Boehner is our Demosthenes? If so, he'd better get good life insurance.

If only it would pass.
