the famous awning trick

JJ, were you recently in Minneapolis?

The guy in this story, "finished drinking with friends and returned to the hotel at about 0130. Lt Barness said that as his lift arrived at the 17th floor he ran down towards the end of the corridor, where he somehow lost balance and crashed through the floor-to-ceiling window. But his fall was broken by the awning one floor above the ground.

Tah-daaah!

I was in Minneapolis on the way back fro Bozeman last. Just in the airport, inside security. Decent pizza. Not enough beer and the terminal isn't high enough to do that 17-story testflight.

You remember what pizza joint you stopped into? MSP International is often the first hub we Bismarckians enter when they let us out of the state for vacation and business.

Also: I'll be in Denver on the 29th thru the 2nd. You ever been there, and if so, can anyone recommend some of Denver's fineries? (I should be in pretty good shape as my boss has lived there since he was a wee lad).

Come to think of it, if I'm going into Colorado, I might need to invest in some white socks and Birkenstocks, and even dreadlocks...

Sorry. Don't remember the name of the place. What attracted me to it was their brick oven, though. Probably asking around you can figure out the place I was talking about. Had beer too.
I have also only passed through Denver so I am totally ignorant. I would imagine it's the place to be for steaks. As you may recall, I have a thing for Colorado beef. I buy nothing else here in Massachusetts.

Yeah, I'll give Colorado beef a go. I'm gonna give North Dakota Branded Beef a go at some point soon. There's a family-operated ranch just east of Bismarck who runs the NDBB, and they just happen to be a couple blocks down the street.

I had Omaha beef last spring (twice) and wasn't really impressed.

How would you rate the steaks we had in Montana as compared with Colorado?

Montana were good, but I would have cooked the differently. Different strokes... I sure appreciated the price they gave us that primo wine for!

Yeah, that was top-notch vino, JJ. Thanks for introducing me to it (they wanted double the price in a liquor store!). Run the name by me one more time (recently I've been purchasing bottles of Coppola's merlot, cab, zin, and chardoney). I'll look for it on my upcoming liquor run.
