OK, sure, anyone is better than the left-most senator -- that's not saying much, JJ.

But, against a backdrop of job losses and deteriorating home values, Wall Street is backing McCain's Democratic rival, Barack Obama with cold, hard cash. Hmmm.... Talk is cheap, money speaks. How is McCain gonna win, if he can't even get the Wall Street types to back him? Invoking Kerry, the Mormon Church, and all that jazz? Pretty lame, pretty lame, JJ.

No one would have voted for Kerry, AI. Gonna have to have faith in Krauthammer on political strategy. I also don't believe Wall Street is going for Obama.

Back in Gore-Bush, all the Fidelity guys I knew were the only Bostonians for Bush. They were right, don't you think? I bet the author of this piece is blowing smoke.

Well, despite my misgivings and trepidations, I hope you're right and I'm wrong, JJ -- but I'd put the odds of that being the case at <10%. (Not that it will do me any good in terms of those long-overdue jeroboams...) At any rate, here is more melancholy news. Let's just have some ouzo, man.

Remember that fruit quislingRon Reagan? We'll have ours this year. The battle is in the middle, not the far left.

Far left? What are you talking about, JJ? There's sizable numbers of Republicans who are simply sitting on their hands in disgust (not to mention all those defectors). And nobody's really enthusiastic about McCain (except you). The only way on earth that he can win is if Obama completely messes things up (with all those skeletons in his closet or under his bus) -- but with the MSM in his pocket, and covering up for him, and with McCain a pussy when it comes to going on the attack (like Hillary did), how likely is that?

W didn't have to attack Kerry. 527s do that now.
Obama is far left a la McGovern.

OK, OK, JJ Rove. So what is McCain's game plan, then? Just sit there, and wait for things to fall in his lap? In 1972, people still had an idea of what McGovern represented, and voted in a landslide against him. 36 years later, with public education, academia, Hollywood, and the MSM being in the pocket of the McGovernites (or is it the other way around?), things don't look the same anymore, do they?

Ohio and Florida voted against Kerry when the war was really a disaster. What will they do in November, when it will be near over and won?
