Maliki does sound more & more like a sensible fellow. Hopefully he'll have the political muscle to follow through until november when the new administration finally supports these efforts and heed the will of the enormous majority of americans who would very much enjoy for their tax dollars to be put to some worthy endeavor (any worthy endeavor) and iraqis who resent being occupied.
