I guess in Bloomberg's New York the coppers have to be busy making sure no evil Yankee transfats get used in an eatery. No time for mere attempted mayhem/murder.

Or maybe they are too busy making sure no one smokes in bars? (Not to mention passing motorists -- of course, they never stop in Gotham.)

At any rate, hats off to this courageous girl, who fought for her life, literally mano-a-mano. Just thinking of grabbing bare-handed the blade poised at one's neck sends shivers down my spine.

She's from Como. They're are up to their necks in Islam up there. She's good against knives and the old headhacking thing.
