Well, the way the Left tried to stop deployment of Pershing missiles, Star Wars, etc, etc. All the way back to Daladier and Blum, they always try to stop the West from defending itself against external threats. I guess they just look for excuses to act like the bourgeois de Calais, if you get my drift.
I'm prepared to eat partial crow on this one: I referred to the French as a metaphor for the Left, but at least in this instance, this does not seem to be the case. Indeed, some digging around revealed this suprising poll: There were clear majorities in favor of deploying missile defense systems in France (69 percent, Germany (68 percent), Britain (72 percent), Spain (54 percent), Italy (60 percent), Poland (84 percent), the Czech Republic (62 percent), the Netherlands (63 percent). Denmark polled lowest in this area with only 44 percent of those asked supporting the idea.
The French more willing to stand up (well, let Uncle Sam do it) than the Danes? Mon Dieu, what's going on?
well, why not? As long as it's not on our territory.
But stand-up to what? iran's long range missile and nuclear war heads ? is it time to revive the ridiculous fearmongering from 4 years ago? this is about nothing else than the us recouping in the east the foothold it lost in western europe.

One can always try the default solution.
