Portuguese grub, with a stronger dose of African characteristics [spicier, in general]. Not as varied as the food of Portugal, traditionally, but no reason why that is not changing as the nation prospers. They are doing well because they are the one ex-colony of Portugal in Africa who moved strongly away from the Socialism they inherited and have embraced the support of the American diaspora [which is still largely led by "can do" Horatio Alger types. Which the article directly eludes to]. They should seek to grow as rapidly as possible, because once the PP rot infests them, as it surely will, the return of the Socs will bring an end to their entrance into civilization.
It must be said, though, that Cabo Verde is not that lovely at all. Quite bleak when compared to the Azorean islands. Had these last gone independent in the days of the "Troika", then they would have been the better option. The trouble with Cabo Verde is that it is not really lost enough to survive the merdeant flow of PPopia. Not for long, anyway. In terms of absolute isolation Pitcairn surely has it beat. On the other hand, we be dead by then, anyway.
Sounds quite good to me. And the girls look cheery. More so than the sheep of Pitcairn Island. Now, isn't there trouble brewing with the volcanoes there?

Ok, not THAT bleak. It's like comparing Barbados to Bermuda.

But nothing the locals aren't willing to dare the Gods on.
