And by the way, what the heck is an alum, or, for that matter, what are alumns? Don't know if AA was just quoting Harvard here, in all its Juchi splendor, or following (however inadvertently) in the Joechi path -- probably the former, because of the scare quotes.
For the record, though, let me set things straight: correct Latin is alumnus/alumni (masculine) and alumna/alumnae (feminine). Anything else is PC crock.

If JJ were not asleep at the wheel (as is his wont) he could share with us the finer points of calling people "chairs," or using constructs such as "they is." Those Cambridge alehouses (or is it the evil cell fryers?) tend to do that to one's speech. Maybe a cure of Montanan fresh air has changed his speech patterns to the better? One never knows with a wolf in sheep's clothes...
If AI hadn't spent the last cold day grading whatever algebraic nonsense he is corrupting the young with, he might have caught the last of the DPA in the aforementioned dank smelly Cambridge cellar. Now all that's left around here is masterpiece of zymurgy. Good goin' AI!
