"Let's keep our streets clean and orderly," President N. Enkhbayar said on TV. "Let's sing our national anthem together. Let's drink vodka moderately."

That's my kind of Presidential speech! Pretty good, pretty good -- do you think Peggy Noonan helped with it? As for JJ, yes, this sounds like the right place to be. Folrget about Materazzi, how much grappa can one drink on account of him?

By the way, are there mountain goats in Ulan Bator?

AI, I reckon there are goats, but I'm uncertain if they are of the mountain or merely herd variety. This just in from the capital city:

Word on the still rubble and filth strewn streets of Chingis City is that many of the prisoners given amnesty were violent - or at least theifs (the legislators may have done this to help cover the costs of the anniversery). The freed prisoners will have plenty of work with the 500,000 visitors.

I hope jj is okay. Maybe the divine winds have taken him further east, however, to partake in spectator sumo. Can you spot him in the crowd?

And if not that crowd, how about this one?

Speaking of the Khan, here's a snippet from today's Taranto column:

Great Minds Think Alike

"They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."--John Kerry* on U.S. servicemen, April 22, 1971

"The Zionists think that they are victims of Hitler, but they act like Hitler and behave worse than Genghis Khan."--Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, July 16, 2006

* But he supports the troops!
