For some reason, the "family-values/moral majority" crowd is the bogeyman of the Left, onto which they just love to project their deepest mental anguishes. Of course, this has nothing (or almost nothing) to do with reality, and it's far easier to blame it all on some decent folks that won;t lift a finger in response, than on the real baddies, who would chop yur head.

Having said that, I don't think this has much to do with the Left's bogeyman. Looks to me more like the Mother Earth, Bierkenstock-clad, don't-shave-your-armpits, vegan and granola bars crowd. They tend to be much more hollier-than-though than anyone in the moral majority.

No, but I travel there occasionally, especially to that French ex-colony by the mouth of the Mississippi River. Didn't see much Bierkenstock-clad fellas there, except a couple in the faculty lounges. Actually, I'm thinking of going back to la Nouvelle Orléans in January, but I don't know how safe it is -- is it still under water, or did they manage to pump it out already?
