Barack Hussein Ashcroft

It's not a matter of free expression, it's a matter of whose free expression.

the pipe and drape wasn’t high enough by itself to fully cover the IHS and cross above the GU seal and it seemed most respectful to have them covered
Respectful?

There is no place for the state-sponsored display of religious symbolism in a civilized society. But a nice pair of DDs is an entirely different matter.

There is really no dilemma when it comes to choosing whether to look at some raggedy hippie dude bleeding over two boards or a set of shapely tits.

Jon Stewart said it best last week. Since you lost the election, it is likely that you won't like many of the things this administration implements. It's supposed to taste like a shit taco.

I'm confused - one day he's a muslim the next a churchgoer.

Pepe, this is about free exercise of religion.Refusing to show religious symbols is free exercise of religion as far as I can tell.

Seriously, there are two people here: Obama the private citizen who can worship a donkey if he pleases, and the prez of the USA whose role is certainly not to promote any particular religious view. Look at it as refusing to proselytize.

hey, I'm getting citizenship. you betta talk to me nice: I don't want to hear any of that "shut up you dumb frog" talk any longer.

Well said, Mr Rot. As for Pepe, it's not worth wasting your breath arguing with him, at least on this subject. His view, which neatly encapsulates the pinko taco shit he's peddling, is simply disgusting.

Pepe le Pew said...

yet another statement of belief from you... with no argument. what is "disgusting" about declining to promote superstition ?

Tecumseh said...

Why bother arguing with an ignoramus, who cannot even grasp the most simple-minded concepts? Like, going to give a speech somewhere and asking your hosts to put drapes to hide their place is not avoiding "promoting" something, but simply extremely offensive boorishness. If you want to come to my house, but can't stand a statue of Jesus Christ, tough shit -- go somewhere else. Don't ask me to hide it, capeesh?

so you don't think it's his prerogative to control the symbolism around the environment that portrays him. In other words, you'd find it "disgusting" if dubbyah were to cover up a logo of say, the ACLU or Planned Parenthood that happened to be visible at a function where he gave a speech.

It would be like the Pope insisting that Berkeley's shield be masked when he spoke there. Or that the Quran be hidden if you are invited to speak there. Someone invites you to speak, then if you don't like being associated with what they are then don't accept the invitatin, simple. If you do, then you accept the fact that you have chosen to speak in someone's home and their home is their home.
To do otherwise is to be a thug... oh, yeah, that's what gets you all wet when you hear Obama Imperator

no - he was invited to speak at a university, not in some church. What's the big fucking deal - he doesn't want to see this junk, he moves it out of the way. end of story.

That university belongs to the church, not to some Kenyan headhunter.

look - they didn't have to agree to it. i still don't understand what the big fucking deal is.
