The French are being brainwashed

oh, my! is it time to wet my pants? no one says the problem dosn't exist ai - just that it is a small scale, sporadic issue that doesn't deserve the ressources it is using.
That being said, we aren't on the side of the coalition, that's clear to everyone - i don't see a motive for AQ to go after us. Do you ?
By "us", you mean, the French? Well, I do hope they refrain from attacking France. Look, there are limits to my Schadenfreunde, and despite all my gripes, I still do like France a lot, and travel there whenever I can -- I wouldn't wish the kind of attack suffered by NY, DC, Madrid, London, or Bali on anyone, even the French :)
Now, having said that, I do not think for a minute that the kind of duplicitous groveling Chirac, Villepin, & Co did to ingratiate themselves with the likes of Saddam or Binnie will help France in the least, if AQ decides to attack. After all, what you think as being their "motive" is irrelevant. They have their own logic, according to which all infidels must submit, or be killed. Whether France is on the side of the coalition of the willing, or grovels on all four, will not help stay the hand of the head-hackers if and when they decide to strike. The only thing that will help is steely resolve, and internal fortitude, the kind that seldom has been shown in those quarters since Charles Martel.
