more deception

On Sept. 25, 2002, just days after the CIA received the source's information, President Bush told reporters: "Al-Qaeda hides. Saddam doesn't, but the danger is, is that they work in concert. The danger is, is that al-Qaeda becomes an extension of Saddam's madness and his hatred and his capacity to extend weapons of mass destruction around the world. . . . [Y]ou can't distinguish between al-Qaeda and Saddam when you talk about the war on terror."

It was a deception that it would be dangerous if Saddam and al Qaeda teamed up? What would be an honest assessment? That it would be cool and neat-o? That it would be impossible?

Do you think it would be dangerous if your gas stove blew up in your kitchen? I sincerely think it would be very dangerous, Pepe, and I very sincerely hope it doesn't happen. I also think it's possible and it happens all the time.

Anticipating your response that it would be impossible for religious fanatics and secular dictators to team up, I counter ahead of time that secular Syria is in bed with religious Hezbollah with religious Iran with secular Venezuela.

Politics makes for strange bedfellows even if you aren't Barney Frank, because the enemy of your enemy is often your friend.

Remember that Stalin guy?

Is Pepe again really suggesting that religious fanatics and secular dicators can't team up? If I missed something on recent posts, and that is indeed the case, then an instance might be the way Mr. Kim doesn't team up with the Mullohcracy of Iran? That Senor Chavez doesn't find common cause against El Gringo with them?
Would Pepe at least admit that religious fanatics and those who support secular dictators can team up? Or have such as Galloway and Chomsky, McKinney and Mcdermott, heck, a goodly portion of the commentariat on in Huffingtonia, suddenly joined Ms. Fallaci in that place beyond whose bourne we all shall pass?
