[REGURGE: Al Sharpton and Herr Rot get ready to march on Phoenix. --T.]
REREGURGE for Pinko Varadarajan. I almost haven't the heart to tell this moron.
REGURGE again. Stupid is as stupid does. Goddammit. The Arizontards have given the Dems an opening.
Goldberg tries his best at NRO.
Independent definition of "lawful contact".
Karl Rove, Libtard.
Unclear on the Constitution. Meh, it's pinko.
Ahhh, the wisdom of Michelle Malkin! By her logic, we should put Iraqis in iron maidens.

Rich: During an interview with The New York Times on Thursday, Mr. Spitzer also shed new light on the private resentments and clashes that have strained the relationship between the two men, both Democrats, including Mr. Cuomo’s 2007 investigation of the use of the State Police by Mr. Spitzer’s aides to gather information on a political rival.
Asked about Mr. Cuomo’s reputation as a “tough guy,” Mr. Spitzer responded: “Toughness is not the issue. It’s easy to be tough if the selection of one’s target is driven by politics. The real test is, do you take on the battles that have been unpopular and perhaps seem impossible to win but are important to take on?”
And your point is, Herr Rot? That we should have the "courage" not to be so uncouth and ask illegals for their papers?
Ah, but, don't worry: Janet Napolitano, a former Arizona governor, told Fox News Friday that "the border itself is more under control than it has ever been." So it's all in the perfervid imagination of those right wing nuts, says Rot.
Tecs, how does the cop know whose papers to ask for? The law is vague and this bullshit is going to bite the Repubs hard.
Another RWN against Mac. A bad day for Herr Rot.
70% seethers.
70% seethers is interesting. Tecs, Az is the antipode of Calif. or Mass. In Ca or Ma you can get big fractions of the electorate that want crap that the rest of the country thinks is beyond the pale.
In Az, they still execute by firing squad, and I think they abolished drawing and quartering a couple years ago. Their Reps in DC keep quiet about all that.
So what if in Az you get 70%? The point is that the National GOP looks like shit to everyone else.
Think SC also. If you're from there and you say the rebel flag is unacceptable, then you get voted out by the GOPers. If you get in by saying that, then you're doomed to fail at public office.
The Dems are going to have a field day with this and they're going to take a lot of social conservative mexican votes from the GOP. Again.
Don't really know what you talking about. All I see coming from AZ is John "Maverick" McCain and Janet "We're doing a fantastic job" Napolitano. All those bits about firing squads, etc, sound more like the kind of pinko urban legends favored by Pepe than any realistic assessment of the situation, which must be very dire indeed to have prompted such desperate measures by the Governor to regain some kind of control of the situation (in which the federales do squat to help out.)
Counterpoint: the view from the London.
Sorry. It's Utah that lives up to the fevered imaginations of pinko lunatics and actually still shoots people.
Napolitano is a Democrat last time I checked, and moderate McCain, war hero and previous standard bearer is being credibly threatened by a guy that looks like he's carrying an axe-handle.
What's 2+2 again, Tecs?
Yes, of course the Feds have to do the job, but even if they don't there's no goddam way that the law, passed by the legislature and signed by the governor can tolerably direct cops to go around asking for papers.
That's fucking crazy.
Of course it's Utah, and not Arizona! That by itself will be a jeroboam on the tab.
Napolitano: Of course she's a Dem. My point was that AZ in not monolithic (like Utah pretty much is), in that it produces the likes of JN.
New AZ law: it's easy for you to judge, ensconced in Nanny State splendor, sipping latte and lime-Perrier at the Sacher. How about those cops being slaughtered by the narco-gangs, running all over the place, since the federales don't do squat about it? And where has Mac been all these years, while the situation has gotten worse and worse? If the feds were doing their jobs, and defending the border, like just about any other country in the world does, such desperate measures would not have been contemplated by Arizonians, methinks.
Utah, Arizona, Minsk, Pinsk.
No squirming out of it, Herr Houdini.
Hey, you didn't comment on my picture! I did it all myself. All my librul friends are mad at me. Don't I even deserve a half-bottle of VCP for my effrontery?
Hey, you should pay up for my awesome 'separated at birth' photo trickery.
Which pic? The montage of the two Michelles? Hmmm...
But you didn't comment on my Al Sharpton post. Ready to march with him on Phoenix?
That's at a whole other level, Tecs. I mean who before me understood that the 2 Michelles are identical?
Sharpton is a clown, yes, and so all pictures of him are high are of the grotesque, but what did you do? Paste a link?
This must be your straight A background coming out, Tecs. You want everyone to call you a genius for everything you do.
But this is a C blog...
Hey, buster, if this was a C blog it would be the CCP.
Be proud of your grade, boyo.
Only Tecs went to a grade-mill, AA. Forget it. When I got better than C in something, I partied so hard that I certainly didn't get any more the next semester.
My answer to Krikorian:
Tunku's going with "Fascism."
You?
The Bullshit from vindobonensis on this issue is piling up more quickly than hemmorhoids on Barney's Frankenass.
It is illegal to be here as an illegal immigrant. Hence the label "illegal", as opposed to "legal".
Asking for some bloody official ID is required of me at every stage of turning a corner here in Massachusetts, to allow me to do just about anything. The Arizona law shockingly would require of the illegal the same hewing to the law that I have to do. That is fascism....? Spare me the crud.
When do you have to present ID in Fascichusetts, AA?
I never did. It must be profiling.
Bank transactions, rental agreements, using check, traffic stop, pay a bill at the town office, show insurance at a clinic, apply for a job. All of these have required this.
Never mind when someone is asked to verify citizenship because some illegal immigrant has stolen his ID.
Traffic stop is not to cops?
Sure traffic stop, but cops could always look into immigration status at a traffic stop.
Uh, actually, vindobonensis, many principalities, and states, have forbidden exactly that. You seem to be way out of the loop on how deliberately shut down enforcement of existing immigration laws has been in the last 10-15 years.
It is precisely because enforcement has so badly failed that border states, which are getting absolutely hammered by the influx of illegals, are getting fed up and doing the enforcement which the feds should have been doing.
There is absolutely nothing in the Arizona law which goes beyond what the feds are mandated to do, but have refused to do, to secure our borders and the legal integrity of US residence and citizenship.
But who am I to deprive the Rott of enjoying a day in the Pepean Moonshine.
You're wrong about the equivalence of the laws and the Dems are going to gain on account of it.
This law is an election year bone thrown to Bubba by the Az Repubs and it's going to cost the GOP elsewhere.
In addition, the ringleader Hayworth is polling behind the Dem. Great chess playing.
You're right that there are some "sanctuary towns" or whatever scattered around. San Francisco, Eugene Oregon, whatever.
Most of the country, however, if you get pulled over, they look through everything.
I am not wrong about the equivalence of the laws. If anything, on paper the Arizona law is tamer than written federal law. The difference, of course, is that for two plus decades the feds have treated that law like so much confetti at good ol' boys convention in New Orleans [both parties have done so, if for very different reasons], whereas the Pepeans, and the Cheap Labor Capitalists, and you, are all nonplussed about the possibility of genuine enforcement.
Shit, it just ain't fair to illegals to be held to something close to the standard legals are held to. It's a fascistic injustice, it is. And Vindobopepis will not let this injustice stand, no sirree bobo.
Where do you get your data, AA? I am all for border enforcement and have been since the high school I went to was full of illegals.
I also am opposed to fucking cops' dragnets, and the Az law makes that conscionable while federal law doesn't.
You hearsay your way through some BS comparison about the laws but quote no one qualified to judge and don't quote the relevant parts of the laws themselves. I have provided a long list of people on the right, that we have considered reasonable in the past and who are uncomfortable with the Az law as it is written and even doubt its constitutionality.
If you're going to get emotional about the constitution when Barry and his Chicago thugs fuck with it, then a load of retards in Arizona throwing part of it as a bone to Bubba might should get you worried too.
"Quote no one qualified to judge"
Uh, the Arizona attorney general? VDH? Scalia? You?
I would prefer a guy on the Left saying it's OK in this case, AA.
The Az AG is an interested party. Sure, Scalia I would listen to because I have experience with his intellectual honesty. Absent anyone like that, I think the weight of guys on the Right that are concerned about this law is simply more important than guys on the Right that support it and guys on the left that oppose it.
When Schumer and Weiner told Obama to knock off shitting on Israel it was a lot ore important than Pat Robertson's saying the same thing.
Similarly, when WFB said we'd lost the war in Iraq it was more important than Barney Frank saying so.
AA, the VDH piece was pitiful. There was no discussion of the law there. It was some crap job of tugging at heartstrings and appealing to feelings of justice.
Fine, but that's not what's at issue. I don't want illegals around, but I also don't want the cops not quite knowing how far they can go.
Just this week, the cops came down hard on a blogger because they aren't sure if he's a news organization or not.
