Last week, the U.S. Congress canceled funding for a test program begun by the Bush administration that allowed Mexican long-haul trucks to circulate in the United States in compliance with the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Why? Mysterious are the ways of Planet Pepe. Not worth trying to understand Pepean logic. There is none.

Unfortunately, this is a predictable reaction by the Mexican government to a policy that now puts the United States in clear violation of the North American Free Trade Agreement. Surprise, surprise. Didn't Obama explicitly campaign on a policy of violating NAFTA (while backpedaling through back channels)? Why didn't Mac denounce this during the campaign, instead of now? Ah well.

Yes, he talked about dumping NAFTA in Canada. Figured he'd want to keep it on in Mexico since the alternative is more immigration.
