I've been hearing bullshit like this for years. It's up there with flying cars and teleportation machines. I'm wondering if that isn't what JJ and his engineering buddies make up so they get discounted drinks at the bar.

Yeah, the refusal to push on with space exploration, when we were on the fucking moon in the goddamn 1960s was a colossal failure of nerve and an opportunity it will be very hard to recreate. NASA still dreams, and in the meantime the USA becomes more and more akin to Rome after the end of the Good Emperors.
