The Diana comparison is the closest we get to explain this. But them it was some harmless nitwiterry, mostly (but not completely) confined to the rubes. Now, it's taken global hold -- and almost complete hold among the chattering classes. What's the plan, moving forward, Pepe? Oh, I got it: arrest W and Cheney, and organize a show trial. That will do it.
