Canoeing down the rapids

Steyn is stealing my line: The Athenian “public service” of California has been metaphorically face down in the ouzo for a generation.

Steyn on fire: In Greece, they’ve run out Greeks, so they’ll stick it to the Germans, like French farmers do. In Germany, the Germans have only been able to afford to subsidize French farming because they stick their defense tab to the Americans. And in America, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are saying we need to paddle faster to catch up with the Greeks and Germans. What could go wrong?

Run for the hills, Herr Rot. The czech is bouncing!

There is an Ukraine-sized fallacy somewhere is what you say. Basically, you are assuming this Ponzi scheme can keep on going forever (well, till the end of the Universe, whichever comes first). But, like all Ponzi/Madoff schemes, the whole shebang will come crashing down at some point. Hopefully, the deluge comes après moi -- everybody thinks so.

Ponzi? Nah. Just because you follow the blondes doesn't mean they run out.
