It seems that Hitch is running the risk of losing his privileges [potentially] to the Yale Wine Salon. In his circles, I suppose, that is already a mark of courage. As for Juan Cole, he is really par for the course in what passes for expertise on Islam in much of american academia. He is Ward Churchill with a higher IQ and a somewhat better track record when it comes to lying and plagiarism. So if Ward can be the Bravo of the Colorado, would it not be injustice to deny Cole membership in the Elyte?
I enjoyed the interview somewhat. I have seen Hitch wittier. Probably was off the bourbon while talking to Hewett and hewed it close to the bone so as not to give Patrick Kennedy and Juan Cole ammunition.

I like his accent, and his intonation. He coulda been an actor. Any good role for him?
Steyn has a cool accent, too. But enough mooning over pom-sounding conservative (or in Hitchens' case, just weird) political commentators.
