A little threat

From the Iranian Chief of Joint Staff:
You saw how we treated the Iraqi PoWs. We viewed them as relatives and treated them as such. But we will not treat the Americans this way.

Treated the Iraquis like cousins??? The same Iraquis that were brought to Tehran and drained of blood to provide supplies for Iranian wounded? It was a close call, in that war, who treated the enemy captured more brutally. The Ayatollahian government or Saddam.
If this is how 'cousins' are treated in the Ummah, please allow me to be no cousin of theirs

Beat me to it, AA. Remember the bridge of corpses?

Tell you the truth, I forgot the details about how Saddam and cousins treated each other during their long war -- remember though poison gas was used at some pint. At any rate, it wasn't pretty, more likely, on the gruesome side.

My take though, is that the Iranian general is now telegraphing a message to the effect that, were we to take action against their nuclear sites, and were they capture an American soldier, he would not be treated according to the Geneva conventions. Am I misreading what he said?

I think they are talking like that, but US soldiers are pretty high-value acquisitions and the US is tired of seeing atrocities on TV. You extrapolate. Sounds to me like the Mecca Conventions will be in force and the Delanoes of the world sill say we have it coming because of 'Gitmo.

More reason to forgo boots on the ground, and rely instead on the fly boys.
