Yeah, I think NASA should grant me two million dollars for one reason or another... maybe we'll send a space archaeology field crew up to Mars or something along those lines.
More seriously, scholars better trained than I could probably tell you something about the direction the big rock hit, and the various minerals within the soil stratigraphy. That, in turn, could lead to a plan and legislation that would make Mars the 51st state.
