Time to surrender?

"We are in a state of civil war, orchestrated by radical Islamists. This is not a question of urban violence any more, it is an intifada, with stones and Molotov cocktails. You no longer see two or three youths confronting police, you see whole tower blocks emptying into the streets to set their 'comrades' free when they are arrested."

All right, all right. Just throw in the towel, and be done with it. What do you think you are, a stoopid Ricain?

To what, AI? A little teensy problem with public order? More people were killed in Columbine than during the French riots.
Get a handle, Turgidson!

Le Pen has been saying the same thing for 25 years. Le Pen est mort, vive Le Pen.

OK, OK, enjoy the ride. Any of you guys wants to get out of Versailles, and take a stroll through the peaceful banlieues?

I'll help, AI. "Teensy" is not a word I use seriously outside of P-town.

Tecumseh said...

Provincetown? You cruisin' around there?

Mr roT said...

Never been. Just saying that you should have caught that I was being ironic. don't use the word 'teensy' much when I'm serious.
Never mind.
Did you see that Taranto will speak at Harvard this coming Tues? What you got going on there? Abbie Hoffman's embalmed corpse?

Disintegration is a possibility too.

JJ: Yeah, I knew you were kiddin', just pulling your leg. Note though the defensive/diversionary reaction of Pepe: blaming it all on lePen. Yeah, sure.

Thanks, AI. I thought you were slippin' and I might never get all the VCP you owe me. What a relief.

About Pepe le Pen, it seems he started out a rw nutjob but has ended up rather prophetic.

Maybe I will pay more attention to you cassandras out there.

Nah.

You really shouldn't be so hard on your compatriots.

Note though the defensive/diversionary reaction of Pepe: blaming it all on lePen. Yeah, sure.
Sarko is trying to score points with the LePenists here - You do know Le Pen has been trumpetting the same alarmist message for the last 25 years, don't you ?

A handful of muslims in some ghetto are being rowdy and Sarko is already having nightmares about the fall of Constantinople: it doesn't get much sillier than that.

Mr roT said...

No nightmares, Pepe. This is politics and finally some people are getting fed up in Europe at this encroachment on their culture.
I would much rather Sarko have le Pen's votes than le Pen, actually. Large groups of disaffiliated extremists have a nasty habit of taking the law into their own hands.
Sarko is doing a good job and I hope he beats Royal.
Or at least porks her. Villepin and Chirac could blow it for him and France though. That would be a shame of Foley-like proportions.

is that you JJ ? rhetoric of this type is better left to white supremacists & similar wackos, imo.

I would much rather Sarko have le Pen's votes than le Pen
Well, yes. if the only two options were to be killed or gang-raped, I'll opt for the latter too.

Or at least porks her. Villepin and Chirac could blow it for him and France though. That would be a shame of Foley-like proportions.
You know, we look upon these things very differently than y'all do...

I heard some rumors that Sarko had an affair at some point with Mlle Chirac. But I assume that would not phase any Frenchman, so passons.

"A few `youths' getting rowdy": whistling past the graveyard, yes? Or is this the laughter of the damned?

I think you are right: it would be hard to find anyone who would actually care one way or the other.

Not even papa Jacques?

well yes, you are right. papa jacques is probably upset.
