Day at the office on Planet Pepe

Geithner has been criticized for staffing his department too slowly as it grapples with a banking crisis that has crippled the economy. Uncertainty about Treasury staff also has unnerved financial markets. Five weeks into his tenure, he has yet to name a single top deputy or assistant secretary. This has left Treasury with too few people authorized to make decisions or represent the department in meetings with stakeholders.

Ah, but pinkos are the smartest people in the world. So why worry about such peccadilloes? It's Pepe at the wheel -- that's all you need to know.

They can't find anyone smart enough to serve, Tecs. Jeez. What part of 'smart' don't you get?

Gee, I dunno. I'm not the mirror image of Pepe, automatically assuming that anyone not of my political stripe is a total moron -- basically, only pinkos think that way. So I assume, by general principles, that there must be some smart people in the present Administration (there always are some). But this guy Geithner is worse than I thought -- he seemed more-or-less OK before he started, but now he's really running things into the ground. Maybe it was all those tax things that came up during the nomination "fight" that shook him up? Who knows, who cares. Fact of the matter, we have a sinking economic ship on our hands, and nobody's at the rudder. And Pepe ululates, of course.
