Lèse majesté at the Pepean Versailles

A Portland school principal bans an 11-year boy, Dru Lechert-Kelly, from performing while wearing an Obama rubber mask, at his elementary school talent show after deciding the mask was "inappropriate and potentially offensive." The stage props were designed by his dads, Scott Lechert, 50, an instructional designer, who along with his partner, Paul Kelly, 55, a physical therapist, adopted Dru from a Romanian orphanage in 1999 at age 1 1/2.

The Obama mask would've offended me.

How about a Bush mask? Or a Reagan mask? Or a Nixon mask? I've seen hundreds of those in stores, and at Halloween. I guess some people have a thinner skin than others. Or, are more equal than others, as Napoleon said in Animal Farm.
