Poignantly Careless?

AA was the only one to read and comment on this though MFT was vociferously opposed to gratuitous Paris Hilton coverage preferring Fields Medal coverage. Now we have a bona fide example of the yellow peril employed by Khatami's forum and no one peeps. Maybe it's better. Math is nonsense anyhow. Six cheers for Paris Hilton's nipples!

Guys, there's something I've also been meaning to tell you about History: it's all just a bunch of bullshit. F#CK THE FIELDS MEDAL AND THE AHA!!!

GO HILTON NIPPLES!!! (Paris: "It, like, makes me feel bad when they, like, show my nipples, tee-hee!")

Fuck academia! Hooray for barbarism!

Tell you the truth, I had not bothered to click on this thread, so had not seen the rather tenous connection between Paris Hilton and the Fields Medal. But of course (almost) everything is connected to everything else, if you think long and hard about it. In this case, it's a case of the Ricci flow exposing hidden curvature. Things don't just defalte smoothly, there are local maxima along the way -- known in the trade (as JJ well knows), as Perelman's cigars. Evidently, Paris must have smoked one of those, which led to an expansion of the right hemisphere ('bubbling up" they call it).

So you see, academia is good at explaining the mysteries of life, after all (well, sometimes, once in a blue moon).

Wouldn't the Ricci flow flatten poor little Paris?

Why would it do it monotonically? There could be some bubbling up along the way, no?

kudos to AI and JJ for packing more innuendo in Perelman's pants than a hermit knows what to do with. As for Paris, she was invented precisely for such points.
