I mentioned this before in some post I'm too lazy to trace, but wasn't Syria behind the assassination of Lebanon's former (and very popular) Prime Minister not too long ago? Was Syria's participation in the huge bomb that went off in Beirut ever confirmed or negated?; 9/04/2006 3:37 PM
