Hitchens Tells the Canadians About Free Speech (11/15/2006)
The first of four: Hitchens offers a Free Speech seminar to the Canadians, and the topics discussed are John Milton, Thomas Paine, & John Stuart Mill...
...Hitchens 2/4, where he references British Historian David Irving (who at the time of the speech was -- and maybe still is -- locked away in some Austrian prison), and Oliver Wendel Holmes questions about Free Speech...
...Hitchens 3/4, where he references Canadian Speech Restrictions and Dr. Samuel Johnson, Religious Righteous, and Orwell...
...and Hitchens Free Speech 4/4, on anti-Semitism, and treating religion with ridicule and contempt (why not, eh?).

Interesting that Irving is eliciting the interest of a heavy hitter like Hitchens.
I don't have a dog in this fight, though.
Fantastic series.
