Landing in San Francisco Bay

This crash-landing on the Hudson brings back memories of a long-forgotten one. Refreshingly, the pilot of that flight fessed up, in a manner few people ever do nowadays:

Japan Airlines flight 2 was a flight that was piloted by Captain Kohei Asoh on the 22nd of November 1968. The DC-8 plane was scheduled to land at San Francisco International Airport but Asoh mistakenly landed the plane in the waters of San Francisco Bay, two and a half miles short of the runway. None of the 96 passengers or 11 crew were hurt and the plane was eventually recovered and refurbished for service. Asoh had almost 9,800 hours of flight experience at the time of the accident. A National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) hearing was called to investigate the reasons behind the bizarre accident. Captain Asoh took the stand as first witness and supposedly said, in answer to why he had landed in the bay, "As you Americans say, Asoh fuck up."

Funny, except one never hears americans say that.

That's about right -- everyone blames everyone else (pinkos first and foremost are the masters of the game), no one ever admits he fucked up. It's ingrained since kindergarten.

I am thinking of the difference between Enron thugs taking the 5th while corrupt japanese execs were practically committing hara kiri on TV, and more generaly the perpetual rationaliztin of everything fucked up america ever did.
Dropped nukes on civilians ? It's all good - ended the war.
Enslaved millions - like hell if we'll ever apologize (legal implications, y'understand).
Genocide of american indians - hey, that was a long time ago. Besides those reservations are great: tourists go there all the time.
the list is endless and never do you hear - hey, did we actually do the right thing here ?

Proving Pepe wrong.

Yup, dropping the nukes to end the war was Good, compared to not dropping the nukes and so not ending the war.
Next time, should PP dictate otherwise to ending vast wars if it involves nukes, let's send Le Pew in head first.

So it is acceptable to use civilians for military means or is this one of many instances of the american exception?

In other words, would a nation at war with the united states be morally justified in nuking, say, Topeka and Grand Rapids, if it meant speeding up a capitulation?

Good story. This article is much more detailed than the wiki one.

If we are to be led by the coming AmeriSoc dictatorship, and it decides to launch a grand military assault to make Oceania safe for Versailles, and starts a war against Australia by carrying out a surprise attack against the fleet in Melbourne, and declares total war for the destruction of the existence of the enemy, I would expect the Aussies, had they the means, to nuke San Diego and San Francisco.

[ Not Topeka and Grand Rapids, because they have no military value. Even Le Pew can grasp that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were central militarized cities for the Japanese war effort. The nukes were not dropped on a village in Hokkaido, or even Kyoto, for that very reason].
Planet Pepe is all about the lying.
