A novel way to pay for college.

A couple years ago The Atlantic ran a similar article (Dec., 2002) submitted by Jessica Cohen, a potential Ivy League egg donor. The dilemma (as this article beats around about) had more to do with the ethical side of selling eggs. Man has his own banks, but women are still (rightly and understandably) regarded as defenders (or harbingers, if one isn't feeling euphemistic) of the species, as indicated by how many bucks an egg can bring in.

AI, what are your feelings about the selling of eggs?

And what does the Right Honorable Secular Pepe think?

Anyone else? Just curious.

Makes me queasy -- don't know all the subtleties of the trade, but something doesn't seem right.

On the other hand -- there is always that -- there are so many things wrong with this world, that it's hard to get too worked up about this, unless someone makes an eloquent case...

for once i'm with with AI. The main issue i think is that women have a finite # of eggs, which makes them vulnerable to abuse.

I wonder what it's gotta be like to have your son or daughter find out that they were conceived as some type of hybrid, and further to let them know that, at conception, they were supposed to be the high-end model purchased for a specific dollar amount.
