I don't know about that -- after all, Teddy K, Jean Francois K, etc are senators-for-life. But one thing I know -- if elected, there's gonna be a big stomach-ache, JJ is right. But maybe that is the price to pay -- memories of 40-year Dem Congress are fading, Republican are now losing their mojo, perhaps one needs a few years in the wilderness to re-purify and re-juvenate? All nice and good, except that there are some nasties out there, who are salivating at the idea that Nancy Pelosi will be cracking the whip (well to Bus, it would be a wet noodle for our enemies, of course). Question is: can we really afford 2 (or 4, or 6) years of this crap as penance for Foley's follies, or whatever failings Bush has had?

you think you can afford the present fiscal policy ?

What's wrong with the present fiscal policy? I haven't really payed attention lately, but the economy seems to be humming along, thank you. The Republicans are spending like drunken sailors, that's true, but the Democrats, given half a chance, would see them, and double...

actually if i am not mistaken, the budget was balanced by democrats before the clowns took over...

Actually, you are mistaken: check the amounts that F.D.R. budgeted during the New Deal of the '30s, and during the Second World War; see also what L.B.J. budgeted for his Great Society.

Clinton pocketed the peace dividend and we got 9/11. Sound like a good deal?
