Uh, oh
Salim Mansur (a prof at UWO) has guts, and talks straightforwardly. How long before he gets a fatwa on his head, or slapped with a suit by the local CAIR? Let's see if he keeps his spine straight, or starts grovelling like that French philosopher.

There is more from Mansur on this archive.
Good find AI. Hopefully Mansur can educate some of his own graduate students. We need more minds in academia that think in this direction.
Professor Mansur: From its beginnings, institutionalized Islam's representatives hollowed out the spiritual content of Islam in the service of political expediency. The inevitable followed -- politics dressed in the robes of religion.
To expand on Mansur's comments, I'd have to say that in some cases Islam is politics dressed in the "robes of religion," but there is also an ideology inextricably bound with religion. To act religiously is inherent to acting politically.
The same can be said with that Jesus Camp, where the crazy lady running the camp was having her students worship pictures of President Bush because he is some how the second coming, or a Saint.
In one sense, I guess these weirdos really make life interesting for the rest of us.
