Something about the '60s got me thinking that musicians really ought to stick to music like priests ought to stay out of politics. Actors are all idiots so be they Charlton Heston or Charlie Sheen, they just make me wish they'd cede their bully pulpits to those that can make logic.

Incidentally, I think academics ought to stay out of the public arena too. For every VDH there is the occasional bad VDH and Ward Churchill and Noam Chomsky.
